The history of the French metalcore band Eths starts out in 1996 when Staif and Greg formed a band called What's the Fuck. In 1997 the duo were joined by female vocalist Candice and they changed their name to Melting Point. Another name changed was brought about around 2000 once drummer Guillaume (ex-Shockwave) and bassist Roswell had entered and thus Eths was born.
The musicians of the band are members of a Marseille music collective called Coriace who released the first albums from the band. Live activities in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Portugal spread the word of Eths quickly across Europe and they were chosen to support respected international acts such as Fantomas, Machine Head and Skindred.
